Bashir competed in National Circuit Public Forum debate for two years at Iowa City West High School. During his career, he reached deep elimination rounds at national tournaments including Blake, Minneapple, Mid America Cup, Cal State, Dowling, Georgetown, Columbia, Bingham, and Badgerland. In his first year on the national circuit, he broke at NSDA Nationals and semifinaled the Tournament of Champions (TOC). As a student coach at Iowa City West, he helped coach three teams to TOC qualifications and guided seven bid-winning teams. Bashir specializes in technical debates with a focus on critical literature and theory but has extensive experience across all forms of argumentation. He is excited to join NDC for its unique approach to coaching and curricular depth and looks forward to working with students to develop their skills and strategy.
